Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs

Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is an exchange program funded by the European Commission with the participation of all the EU countries. The program gives the opportunity to gain experience in companies in other European countries, stimulating the internationalization of start-ups and SMEs creation through the transfer of knowledge between new or aspiring entrepreneurs and already established realities.

A “new entrepreneur” is the one who has set up the company over the last three years; the “aspiring entrepreneur” is willing to create one, and has already developed a business plan. A “host company” is a SME in another EU country ready to host new or aspiring entrepreneurs. The combination of entrepreneurs is carried out with the help of more than 100 intermediary organizations, experts in business support activities (such as Chambers of commerce, business incubators, centers of start-up, etc.) present in all EU countries. The activities of these organizations are coordinated by Eurochambres, the European Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The Belgian-Italian Chamber of Commerce is one of the intermediary organization within the European Partnership to be contacted before filling in the registration form. Open Eye supports the submission of the application and facilitates the meeting with the hosting company, providing information on the country of destination.

The application form is available on the website www.erasmus-entrepreneurs.eu.

Before applying, Candidates shall send to the Belgian-Italian Chamber of Commerce the following documents:

- CV and letter of motivation;

- Business Plan;

- Certificates of courses and seminars on entrepreneurship;

- European Language Portfolio.

The Belgian-Italian Chamber of Commerce assesses the validation of the application received within 2-3 weeks. In the case of a positive evaluation, the application will be published on the database of the European Commission and other intermediary bodies can proceed with any combination.
After the parties have reached an agreement on every detail of the exchange they will need an approval by the European Commission.
Reimbursements are due only to the new or aspiring entrepreneur, with terms and ceilings set by the European Commission.

An initiative of the European Union
