The event

The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Belgium is organising the webinar “Digital Rights and Data Protection: Introduction to Digital Rights, Personal Data Protection, Online Privacy, and Responsible Behaviour”.

The digital transformation is creating new and unexpected growth and development opportunities for citizens, businesses, and institutions. At the same time, it raises sensitive issues regarding personal data protection, online privacy, and the responsible use of digital technologies. In this context, promoting awareness of digital rights and responsibilities is essential to ensure a safe, inclusive, and trustworthy digital environment.

During the day of online meetings, these topics will be addressed and explored together with digital sector professionals and officials from the European Commission, including Joanna Juzak, Policy Officer at the European AI Office, DG CNECT.

Experts will introduce the fundamental principles underlying digital rights and data protection in the European context, sharing knowledge, perspectives and practical guidance on the aspects that most closely affect the digital lives of European citizens. They will delve into the content of European initiatives aimed at promoting a secure and rights-based digital ecosystem, including the regulations on personal data protection and online privacy. In this way, they will clarify the role of digital rights in contemporary society for responsible digital citizenship and the risks and opportunities related to the increasing use of digital technologies.

The agenda of the interventions will be published in the coming days.

The webinar will be held in English on the Zoom platform.

The event will be recorded. The recording will be made available on the YouTube channel of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Belgium.

Participation is free, but registration is mandatory by 1 July 2026

The access link will be for registered participants only the day before the event.
