Stéphane Saurel is Deputy Permanent Representative of the European Investment Bank to the European Union.

He has extensive experience in European policies and institutional relations, having worked at the Permanent Representation of France to the European Union and at the French Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Development. He has dealt, among other topics, with the EU budget, own resources, European agricultural affairs and political coordination on European affairs.

He is also a visiting lecturer at UCLouvain Saint-Louis Brussels and regularly delivers training activities at the Institut national du service public (INSP). He is the author of numerous articles and several publications, including Le Budget de l’Union européenne (2018, La Documentation française).
