The European Union represents a highly attractive “client” for Italian companies!

European tenders represent a stable market, where counterparties offer both political and commercial guarantees and payments are secure. Furthermore, the average size of the contracts and tenders to be competed for are significant and notices are relatively frequent throughout the year.

It is important to remember that the European directive on public procurement (published on February 26, 2014) has revolutionized the world of public procurement in Europe. With this “European law,” participating in a tender is easier: simpler procedures, less bureaucracy, and above all, greater openness to SMEs.

International tenders can open up new and important horizons for business development, but you need to be prepared to seize these opportunities. Competition is global (although usually less intense than for national tenders) and requires a strategic approach to the market.

European procurement represents a commercial opportunity for companies wishing to internationalize:

  • less than 4 bids, on average, for each individual contract;
  • numerous economic sectors involved (construction and infrastructure, agri-food, consulting, supply of goods and services);
  • total value of contracts amounting to approximately €1.5 trillion.

The TENDERBLADE consultancy service is structured in three simultaneous phases:

For each opportunity shared with the client, the extracted data are codified in a report with the appropriate graphics, identifying the following information:

Phase 1

Analysis of the tender and technical consultancy in view of potential participation.

Phase 2

Profiling of the client’s reference market to discover new opportunities and tenders to participate in.

Phase 3

Analysis of competitors’ positioning in the market.

  • Regarding the tender: Technical requirements and financial requirements requested, as well as information on deadlines, amount, and duration of the tender.
  • Regarding the tender published by that contracting authority: whether the tender is repeated, and if so, the winner(s) of previous publications.
  • Regarding the contracting authority: how many tenders it publishes annually in general, and how many in the specific area of interest to the client, in order to understand whether the contracting authority could become a strategic asset of interest.
  • Regarding potential winners: a detailed analysis of all wins in recent years (as chosen by the client) in that authority and/or city and/or other territorial contexts with all contracting authorities.
